Friday, June 24 Coeur d'Alene to Osoyoos, BC

Weather prediction....

Oh sorry, that wasn't the weather, those were "End of Holiday Tears"....

Rain, rain and more rain, at least it was helping to wash some of the bugs off the front of the trailer...

No new roads travelled today, we have made quiet a few trips down this way, and have pretty much taken every main road from Coeur d'Alene to home that there is...

Grand Coulee Dam still a great place to see every time...

It's always a very quiet part of the trip..."the final road home"...it's like the .....

...we know it's there, but we don't want to talk about it...

Border Guard didn't quite believe us that after being away 3 weeks, total dollar value of goods purchased in the USA that we were bringing back....$85.00!!!! Yup!!! that's about all...

We really didn't now where we would spend our "last supper", we were just waiting for the sunshine, where ever we saw it first, that's where we would stop....Osoyoos!!!

There is really lots to do here, bike, kayak, hike, wineries....we only had time to go for a bike ride ..

Three great weeks, many miles travelled....How was our trip you ask???

Until our next holiday, where ever that may be....Cheers!!!

Thursday, June 23 - Coeur d'Alene last full day....

Cloudy skies in the morning, so great day for a hike. We have been here many times, but because there is so much to do, there is always something new to do and see.

So today we are off to Mineral Ridge to do a hike.  Gracie loves to mark every single opportunity she can get!!!

4.3 miles up, and what great views of Lake Coeur d'Alene.

This picture overlooks the Wolf Lodge Area, we have camped with Charlene and Stephan here before, is the most eastern part of the lake.

I set up the camera, gave me 10 seconds to get in the pic and almost didn't make it...

Funny thing here is the trail head is so many miles from anything, you wind back and forth to the top, a 1000 ft elevation gain....and there is  a water fountain ???? a Fountain, crazy.!!! Really

As far as the eye can see....lily pads!!!! lily pads everywhere...I have no idea why there are so many, but it really is the most I have ever seen in my life!!

Pelicans...not sure...

After the hike, we headed to Harrison, which is a really small little town with access to the Trail of the Coeur dÀlene`s

Lunch and a beer and back to the RV for our last night!!! little time in the sun on our last night in
Coeur d``Alene!!! don`t want  to go!!!! So many more things to do here, another time I suppose...

Wednesday, June 22 - Coeur d'Alene - still here and loving it!!!

We left the cloudy rainy skies behind us yesterday, and awoke to "Mrs. Sunshine" streaming through our RV window...Yay!!!

Time for a bike ride into town...

More art work...even in front of City work yards etc. instead of just a boring old sign...

This is across the river from our Campsite..

We spent some time riding through all the old neighbourhoods close to the water...found a few cute homes along the way...

Things are starting to get a little busier around the Iron Man site,...too bad we weren't here for that, we would have been in an awesome location to watch it...

This is Mudgy and Millie, you can find them all over town, and Millie will be hanging out in different places on Mudgy....keep your mind out of the gutter!!!

This is my favourite piece of art work in town...

More adorable homes on the other side of the park..

So many of the homes have flower boxes all over and flags, always flags, they are so patriotic, and it's not even 4th of July yet!!!

And of course a church, love the look of some of these old churches..

And baby ducklings everywhere, this Momma thought this was a great place to raise her babies...

It's a puddle....at the side of the road....except look whats just down the road....

This might have been a better place to raise her babies!!

Riding through this park, I noticed these really really cool metal leaves all over the place, George figured it out...they are to keep the skateboarded off the railings and steps....BRILLIANT!!! why put a sign (which nobody reads except the people not skateboarding) just install these, no need for a sign at all.  We never saw any signs at all saying no skateboarding, and not a skateboarded in sight!!!

This is a great concept  (which we have seen other places), shops on the bottom, apartments on the top.  George loves to go to the Azteca Mexican Restaurant (great Margarita's for sure) and hit up the Cold Stone Creamery today during our ride....hit the spot.

Enough bike riding, time for a kayak.  We are really close to the beach from the trailer, great location to put in the kayak...Gracie is coming today, she's not too excited about it in the beginning, but she loosens up and enjoys the ride...

We were able to go out for a good 1 1/2 hour paddle, think we got ourselves a good kayak!!!

GRACIE'S STAMP OF
APPROVAL

Wednesday Farmers Market here we come.  George stopped to get a slice of pizza, and this young guy comes up who is doing some type of Promo for Washington Trust Bank, and he says "Can I buy you your pizza? So George being quick says SURE, so instead of the slice he was only going to get, he orders himself an entire $20.00 pizza!!! It's FREE, then the guys says "Where are you from?"....thinking that from George's Seattle Seahawks Hat, he must be close to local and can maybe work his magic...!!NOPE ha ha, total Tourist, no new membership for that guy!!!  Ha Ha Ha,
Dinner on Washington Trust, woo hoo!!
