Wednesday, June 8 - Zion

Did I mention it's HOT here, 36-38 degrees, and climbing....Feels like a cool day until you step out of the Air Conditioned trailer...and realize, nope, its hot. But regardless of the heat...this is what we get to wake up to...

We figure, 75% of the campsite is Rental RV;s, Foreigners....kinda like us I suppose,except...no English...you can tell they are not from here because of the "speedo's" and the 36 degree weather and the smell of briquettes and marshmallows roasting mid day????

Brother Tom arrived last night, so today we are off to do some hiking in Zion.  Feels a bit like Disneyland....lineups for the trams to take you into the park...can't understand what people are saying, because we are some of the few speaking English...cameras, designer hiking boots and walking sticks.....thankfully we have the beauty of the park to remind us of why we have come....Ahhh, yes, this is why we come...

Decided to do one of the shorter hikes, 3 miles round trip, considering the hot temperatures, wise choice

Thankfully after the 1.5 miles straight up the side of the mountain, we could soak our feet in the cool water before we headed back down...

After a much needed cool down in the river, we were good to go...

Before sunset we headed up to the Lookout, an easy 1 mile in and 1 mile back, amazing views of the canyon. The hike was looking pretty good until this point...suspended wooden planks above a canyon don't really make me feel too comfortable, but we made it...

Then the Cherry on Top!!!

Good night Zion!!!
