Thursday, June 16 - Arches National Park, Moab Utah
Because we got another later start, we had a bit of a line-up entering Arches National Park.
It's a relaxing about 18 miles in and then you back-track out of the park.Once you got driving, there were only a few places that were really packed.
We have come to the conclusion that we have seen much of the rock formations along our many miles of travel on this trip, just here, they are concentrated in 18 miles.
they don't take this time to fall off their perch!!!
It's pretty darn hot, tolerable to go on shorter walks, but a long hike...NO WAY!!!
So this picture of the Delicate Arch....thanks to my new Camera!!! we didn't have to walk the 1 1/2 mile straight up the steep hill in the direct sun...all the way there....and all the way back....maybe save that for an evening stroll...
I just love all the variation in the colours here, there are so many shades of green,
beige, orange and white, its really pretty...
Look over yonder!!!! it's a ROCK!!!
I think we are both needing some WATER...
Except not that type of WATER...this type of WATER...dog swimming and
people kayaking kinda water...
people kayaking kinda water...
We did see a crazy lady riding her road bike, full-on sun, 36 degrees, with a cute little bike outfit....on the way back from about the 15 mile mark, which you can only assume she rode all the way in...and it's really hilly in Arches.....amazing!!!
Well one more day of rock tomorrow, and Gracie will be so freaking happy to get to some grass and lake swimming....we have been sneaking her into the little fishing pond out back of the campsite we are at....so far so good....we haven't been caught yet!!!
