Sunday, June 19 - Idaho Falls to Coeur d'Alene Idaho!!!! Yay....we LOVE IDAHO
Went for another walk along the falls before heading out on the road..
Nice way to cheer up an underpass
Cal....this one's for you....more pictures of Gracie (aka Jackie), just like you asked...She will NOT look at the camera when she knows you are trying to get a picture of her....So this is what you get !!!
So wish this was a real moose, but it's not....I have been looking, apart from deer, most of the wildlife are viewed close to the road....like really really close ...to the road....ug
I thought this was some important building or something, so I made George go and have a look...well really elaborate offices and stores...
And this was in their round-about....far cry from the weeds and dead plants
we have in ours in Vernon...
Enough of that...it's Father's Day and time to get George some breakfast. He LOVES eating breakfast out...me...not-so-much, so yesterday we were on the road so he chose the breakfast stop (old old old Cowboy Steakhouse - yumyum) and today I got to choose. Stopped at this Opal Mine in this tiny little place, can't really call it a town, but it's Spencer Idaho......https://spenceropalmines.com/
The people their were so nice, really down-to-earth, friendly as can be.
Happy Father's Day Babe!!!
The food was great, the place was spotless and the people were awesome!!! Great choice.
We are now on the border of Idaho and Montana, Big Sky Country!!
And a little-fixer-upper along the way...
We took the scenic route on Highway 1 after we left Butte Montana. First little town was named Anaconda...the town that died!!! This is one of the nicer buildings...there are so many tiny little mining homes...dying...most places haven't seen improvements for many years.
Kill a person and you’ll go to jail for life. Kill an entire town and, well, it’s a different story.
You can read about it here.
Arco kills Anaconda
On to the next little town, Philipsburg Montana.
This little old town with the most AMAZING CANDY STORE!!! Over 1000 Sweet Selections. World famous apparently...It was so busy, it was crazy!!! Cute little lady we met, was raised in this town, move to California for 40 years used to order Candy to be shipped to her, apparently it's a popular thing here. It really is just such an odd thing to have such an absolutely huge candy store in such a small town of 820 people!!! crazy

After a long day of driving, a few stops along the way, we finally arrived in our favourite spot, Blackwell Island, in beautiful Coeur d' Alene., Idaho.
